Virtual course

How long have you been on social networks and on the Internet?Valentine: My blog Hello it's valentine has been around since June 2009.At the start graphic designer and web designer, I started this blog out of the taste of the photo and the desire to share my pictures, travel and daily favorites.Since late 2012 my job as a graphic designer/ webdesigner has passed in the background, leaving me more time developing content on my blog.In November 2012, I received the Golden Blog Award in the fashion category (the Golden Blog Awards ceremony rewards the best blogs by category, following the votes of Internet users then a jury)))).I think I started Instagram in 2012 or 2013, when I was still a graphic designer and web designer at Lush Cosmetics.

What did you want to share via your blog?Valentine: I approach different themes: fashion (my outfits)))), my travels, my decor and some articles focused on ethics (with the animal cause)))).Holding a blog and being read is a great vector of useful messages: I am working to share informative, motivating, educational content too.It is not that futile and light and that is also why my readers are faithful.I open their eyes to not easy subjects, and I receive a lot of testimonies from young women who have stopped consuming meat or buying leather, after being informed of the sordid underside of these very polluting industries. It's super gratifying, I feel much more useful in this kind of case than when I post a look actually.

According to you, what is the most difficult to manage when you are present on social networks? Valentine: the most complicated is precisely to manage everything and do it correctly...I am all alone, I have no one who works by my side, so there are days when I manage to be "efficient" by posting on my blog, on the networks and to make the content pleasant, useful and entertaining. There are some days when I can't do anything and it doesn't matter.I now avoid putting myself too much pressure, I am not in competition with anyone. In addition, I am proud to have completely stopped wasting my time responding to negative people. It has never been useful or constructive to me and I prefer to focus on the positive, which is much more important and present.

His brand: Oh My Darling Paris

Rencontre avec Valentine Vanesse alias Hello it's Valentine, blogueuse responsable !

When did you decide to create your brand Oh My Darling Paris, and why? Valentine: Since the launch of my blog Hello It's Valentine in 2009, ready-to-wear has been an integral part of my daily life.Highlighting small creators like bigger brands, always enthusiastic me.After more than nine years to present the clothes of other brands, the time has naturally come to start carrying my own creations. So I launched my Oh My Darling Paris online store in November 2018, which is part of a logical suite of my love for fashion and which sees one room appear per month.

I want my brand's clothes to last in time, but also to contribute to a fashion off the beaten track, more artisanal, qualitative and authentic. Thanks to Oh My Darling Paris, I invite my customers to take the opposite view from Fast Fashion and create their ideal, timeless locker room months after month.

If you had to describe the universe of your brand?Valentine: I want to create clothes that I do not already have and that I will have fun wearing a long time, whatever the season.I consult Pinterest, my blog archives, Instagram...The important thing is that I offer clothes that will go to all morphologies.I hope to target women who love color and are not afraid to stand out from others. On the price side, I display a total transparency by showing a visual on each procurement sheet of my e-shop which details how much the garment costs: from the fabric to what I perceive on arrival. No taboos: everything is clear for customers. So we can see that I absolutely do not do that for money (laughs)))).

If you had to highlight a room, which would best represent Oh My Darling Paris? Valentine: Difficult question!I don't know if this clothing has already happened...But to play the game, I would say the wonderful petticoat (the piece of March)))).It is made up of almost 10m from ivory tulle with velvet pea.Not easy to wear, not going unnoticed because it is bulky and yet it is this garment that has sold best in 5 months of existence of my brand!I chose this piece because it is original and intended for all women.I had a lot of feedback about future brides who will wear it for their civil marriage! It is beautiful to know that this creation out of my imagination will accompany people during one of the best days of their lives!

You attach great importance to the notion of ethical making, can you tell us more? Valentine: we (Valentine and her pair note)))) call on two different people for Oh My Darling Paris (Modelist and Shapen)))) Both based in Paris, and we deliver all over the world!I do not see myself exporting this work of making abroad: on the one hand for a question of ethics (I would not know the people who take care of sewing the pieces of my brand)))) on the other hand onan ecological point of view (...)))) and finally timing question.By having the possibility of giving and recovering the clothing (s)))) during the day, we save a significant time.It may be more expensive to do local, but I am proud to give work to people who live in France. We must support the local economy and create a human link.

Valentine and fashion

What are the marks that inspire you, which you turn most often? Valentine: I love Manoush, for the originality or even the madness of certain pieces. They come out two collections per year and I am really a fan of this brand!Otherwise I still shop fast-fashion, I admit (Zara, Mango...)))) even if the very concept disgusts me a little.I can't afford to turn to luxury brands, even if I bought creator bags once. They are made of leather, I abandon them for the most part.

What are your essential fashion? Valentine: high -waisted jeans well cut for our own morphology, a white blouse with a ruffle type the meringue model from Oh My Darling Paris, a colorful coat or trench coat, a pair of converse allCanvas star: comfortable archi basic that I have in several colors and at least a beautiful gold plated jewelry.

Is there a personality whose looks inspire you? Valentine: Absolutely none.I have never had a famous "icon" by the way.I have always admired only my mother, for her sense of natural style and class.Little one, I loved watching her make up and perfumed herself.

How do you think you succeed in being responsible blogger? Valentine: this is my biggest challenge and the most difficult aspect of my job.I find this question super useful, even if I think that one can in no case be perfect or aim for a semblance of perfection. This is not what I want, but I try to do my best every day, while encouraging people who follow me to think too about their little daily gestures. It is better to be full of trying to improve things than to be solo to do everything perfectly.

I managed at the beginning of the year to make agencies and brands understand that I no longer wanted to receive surprise packages.I now decide whether or not I accept to receive things (clothes, cosmetics, food, etc..)))).For my part, I try to consume less, to pay more attention to my purchases. There is a big lack of transparency in the ready-to-wear industry and I read that 75% of French people would like to know how what they buy was produced, by which, under what conditions, etc..

What I do and share is only a drop of water and it is still criticized sometimes, but this awareness makes its way. It's slow, but we can no longer be in the most total ignorance these days.

Valentine and beauty

What is your relationship with the universe of beauty in general? Valentine: I love taking care of myself, but I like it to go relatively quickly.I take extremely care of myself (hair, skin, etc.)))).I drink a lot of water and green tea, and I complement myself on a daily basis with capsules to have a good balance and lots of vitamins.Regarding my beauty routine, I went to make -up removal with a product that rink in the water: I have much fewer pimples and the complexion much fresher.Otherwise without surprise: good hydration morning and evening, products as clean and organic as possible, soft gestures towards oneself. The basis of everything to be well in your sneakers.

On the make-up side, I no longer zap the foundation, because by getting older we have more things to camouflage (dark circles etc.)))))!There too, it must go quickly: no more than 5min top time to make up me.Afterwards, there are quite a few days when I do not make up at all, because I work from my home! But it's a reality: I seem more in post -makeup light.Completion, eyes, eyebrows and mouth.By accentuating the eyes or the mouth according to my desire and mood of the day.
