The Pélissier photovoltaic power plant in Albi (Tarn) has been in operation since May 12, 2021, but it had not yet been inaugurated. This will be done soon. But above all, the inhabitants will be able to discover it on a special day, October 2, 2021.

The opportunity to discover a 10-hectare site that has radically changed. It should be remembered that even fifteen years ago, a large coal-fired power station was still present where 13,000 solar panels stand today.

6,600 MWh per year

To transform it, it was necessary to remove 500,000 tonnes of coal ash and vegetate.

The new plant offers a power of 5 MW which should produce 6,600 MWh of renewable electricity each year. This corresponds to the electricity consumption (excluding heating) of more than 5,600 people.

After the official inauguration, which will take place on October 1, free tours of the site will be offered for groups of a maximum of 15 people on Saturday, October 2.
