The ecolomic start-up, supported by Le Village by CA Finistère where it is hosted in the Capucins workshops in Brest, will put its marketplace of destocked products online on Wednesday June 23, 2021.In Brest, ecolomic, the platform for destocked products at low prices, soon online In Brest, ecolomic, the platform for destocked products at low prices, soon online

The purpose of this platform? "It's a website on which you can find products from the destocking of actors in the local agri-food chain", informs Clara Robin, one of the six partners of the company. With Jules Vieau, Marine Toullec, Sylvain Le Gléau, Jonathan Guennoc and Clément Posier. The sellers will be manufacturers, wholesalers or cooperatives. All Bretons.

Low prices but fair prices

Clara Robin specifies: “Initially, we will have a lot of fruit and vegetables thanks to our partnership with the Le Saint network and the Riou company (from Sica -Society of initiatives and agricultural cooperation) in Saint-Pol-de-Léon. »

But there will also be jams from the 4 seasons in Huelgoat in the Monts d'Arrée, fresh, dry and frozen products from Askel, hygiene and cleaning products from Sygia in Bourg-Blanc, Savel guinea fowl in Lannilis. “We are in contact with other professionals who could soon join the process. »

All at low prices (-30 to -50%, or even more) but fair prices so that the work of the producers is valued.

Which products?

In Brest, ecolomic, the destocked products at low prices, soon online

What are these destocked products? For fruits and vegetables, for example, it can be slightly smaller melons or slightly twisted cucumbers, which are unsaleable in supermarkets because they do not meet the criteria and standards imposed.

Clara Robin says: “These products are often destroyed today. The idea of ecolomic is to revalorize them. »

How to fill his basket?

How should the consumer proceed to buy the offers listed on the site? " It is very simple. He connects, consults the offers on the marketplace, chooses a relay point (see box below, editor's note) close to his home ("we have about twenty for the moment") in North Finistère, then he orders , that is to say fills his basket, referring to the list of products by category or that by merchants, as he prefers. »

Ecolomic takes care of the rest. "It's the logistics. We have a warehouse in the Mescoden area in Ploudaniel, on the edge of the RN 12 Brest-Morlaix, where all the products arrive. We prepare the orders there by grouping the basket of each customer that we deliver to the relay points. Where it can be removed the next day or, maximum, three days later, while shopping in the store, for example. »

RELAY POINTS

The Intermarché stores in Plouguerneau, Huelgoat, Carhaix, Plouzané and Brest Paul-Masson (Landerneau and Plougonvelin in a second phase). The Super U stores in Plougastel-Daoulas, Guipavas, Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Pleyber-Christ, Cléder, Landivisiau, Plabennec, Guerlesquin, Le Faou, Camaret, Lanmeur, Lesneven, Brest Keredern and Brest Recouvrance (Gouesnou later).

Le Finistère Nord, to start

The company, created in December 2020, thus intends to contribute to the fight against waste. “We felt that the time was right to get started, because, since the health crisis linked to the Covid-19 coronavirus, the population is more and more convinced that it is necessary to favor the actors of its rich territory. »

Ecolomic (for ecological and economical) is deployed in North Finistère. “We have carried out different tests, now we have to see how it actually works. Then, we will be able to extend the service to South Finistère (relay points are interested) and, later, establish ourselves throughout Brittany. We are really confident because if we are only intermediaries, on both sides of the chain, that is to say manufacturers, wholesalers, cooperatives and customers, the reception is good and the demand real. »
