Burkina Faso: The National Confederation of Actors of the Informal Economy has a new executive office

The National Confederation of Actors of the Informal Economy of Burkina Faso (CNAEI-BF) held its constitutive general assembly in Ouagadougou this Saturday July 10, 2021.During the ceremony, a new executive office was presented.

The informal world occupies a "big" place in the socioeconomic balance of Burkina Faso.It appears to be the one creating more employment and participates in the decrease in unemployment.According to the president of the organizing committee, Boubacar Kouanda, this Confederation which brings together federations and unions has been set up to boost the moral and financial interests of the actors of the informal economy.To hear it, the informal world is changing and it is therefore necessary to structure and lay the groundwork for an efficient informal economy.

"The only thing that can make a difference for the future is to get the small business out of its isolation, on the sidelines of political economy, and to place it at the center.It is the informal economy that creates the majority of jobs today, "said the president of the organizing committee.

For him, the only solution is to ensure that the working conditions and processes applied in small businesses and informal companies are part of a much larger framework for economic growth, social stability and recognized social protection.

During the consecutive general assembly, the Executive Office of the National Confederation of Actors of the Informal Economy of Burkina Faso (CNAEI-BF) was constituted and presented.This office took into account the actors living in the other cities of Burkina Faso.As president of the Executive Office, he was selected El Hadj Boubacar Kouanda, assisted by 4 vices presidents.The general secretariat will be provided by Léon Nikiéma.The new national executive office has a total of 41 members.

The president of the newly elected committee wanted to thank all the actors in the informal sector for the confidence placed in him.He says he already had an established program in order to achieve the objectives that have been set. "The challenge of this new office is to fight that the informal becomes formal and fight for the general interest of the actors of the informal economy.After obtaining the receipt, we will try to set up regional and provincial offices, "said the new president of the Executive Committee.

It should be noted that this general assembly experienced the presence of representatives of the actors of 11 regions of Burkina Faso as well as the representatives of the structures such as Coris Banque, Safine SA and a delegation of customary chiefs.
