A TSAhal official recognizes imprecision in a recent strike

On Monday, the Arabic spokesperson for the Arabic of Tsahal said that messages he had published last week were perhaps imprecise. He said that an Israeli air strike on a Gaza Strip house, which had killed a Palestinian family of eight people, targeted a terrorist.

On Thursday, Avichai Adraee had written on Twitter and Facebook that the strike on Deir El-Balah had targeted the head of an Islamic jihad unit responsible for launching rockets from the center of Gaza.He had identified man as Rasmi Abu Malhous. He had included a photograph showing Abu Malhous, according to him.

However, officials of the Ministry of Defense told the daily Haaretz that Israeli military intelligence, the South Command and other Israeli Security Institutions had no knowledge of what had been published in Adraee's message. The newspaper also announced that it has discovered that the source of the spokesperson's post was shared information on a Telegram channel.

One of the army officials added that Adraee published his message without consulting or verifying information from the "Channel of Experts" of the army. The official said he could "immediately prove that it was wrong".

"On 14/11, we announced that #rasmi Abu Malhous, who was killed in Deir al-Balah, was an official of Islamic jihad. But the information which was then available raised doubts about the credibility of this [announcement], which may not be precise, "wrote Adraee in a monitoring message published on Sunday.

"For the sake of information truth, the most important thing, we wanted to publish this clarification and let the investigation determine reality in this case, and we will learn from it," he said.

According to Haaretz, the house which was targeted in the strike last Thursday morning had, in the past, identified as a site controlled by Islamic jihad, but the authorities had not recently confirmed this information. The newspaper also discovered that the objective of the strike was not to kill an Islamic jihad commander, but rather to destroy the infrastructure belonging to the terrorist group.

According to the newspaper, residents of Deir al-Balah described the house as an iron hut.

Last week, Israel and terrorist groups in Gaza clashed for two days after the Jewish state eliminated Baha Abu al-Ata, a senior official of the Islamic jihad terrorist group.

During the climbing of tensions, the terrorist group pulled around 450 rockets and mortars in Israel, which responded with numerous reprisals on Gaza.

Among the eight victims of the strike on Deir al-Balah, there was a 45-year-old man called Rasmi Abu Malhous, two women and five years old aged 13.Palestinian officials said 12 other people had been injured in the air strike.

Neighbors, who agreed to express themselves provided they keep their anonymity, told the Associated Press that Rasmi's brother, who was a commander of Islamic jihad, they said, lived in the house. But they said he was not there at the time of the strike.Haaretz's article did not assert that a terrorist group agent lived in the house.

Another neighbor, who spoke with Al-Wataniya, an information newspaper based in Gaza, said that the family had no connection with terrorist groups in the coastal enclave.

"These people are civilians. They are not involved in politics or anything else, "said the neighbor, whose name has not been cited."They have a number of sheep, which they live.»»

Dated Sunday afternoon, the original Adraee post on Thursday was still online.

Asked about the reason why Adraee had not deleted the message, a TSAhal spokesperson replied: "For the moment, the two tweets are still online.»»

Adraee has nearly 1.5 million followers on Facebook and nearly 300,000 on Twitter.

Earlier Sunday, the army said in a statement that the Adraee post had been written on the basis of the information initially received, and that the strike as well as the identification of Abu Malhous were under investigation.

"First information showed that an Islamic jihad agent was killed during the attack, apparently a commander of the Islamic jihad rocket unit. Cela a également été affiché sur le compte du porte-parole de Tsahal sur les réseaux sociaux en arabe»», peut-on lire dans le communiqué.

"A first exam has shown that information concerning his identity is not certain. The subject of his identity, as well as the damage caused to civilians by the strike, is the subject of a new examination.»»

"There is no justification for attacking civilians in #Gaza, or elsewhere. Quelle tragédie !»» a tweeté Nickolay Mladenov."I call it to #Israel so that he can advance quickly in his investigation.»»

The Palestinian terrorist group of Hamas, which has been leading Gaza for more than a decade, called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate this attack, Terrorist group officials told Fox News on Friday in Fox News on Friday..

Abdelhaj Musleh, another neighbor, said Thursday that air strike arrived without warning. « S’il y avait eu un avertissement, personne ne serait venu attendre cette mort et cette destruction»», a-t-il dit.

The house was practically disintegrated by the explosion, leaving a large crater dotted with kitchen utensils, pillows and mattresses. The neighbors unearthed eight bodies and tried to recover school backpacks and clothes.

« Quand nous sommes arrivés, nous ne savions pas où se trouvait la maison»», dit Musleh."The air attack intentionally aimed at civilians.»»

While the Israeli army said that 25 terrorists had been killed during the fighting, Palestinian Human Rights observers declared that the 34 dead record included 18 terrorist agents and 16 civilians. These were three women and eight minors.

While Israel claims victory in his last battle against terrorist groups of Gaza, his tactic consisting in making air strikes on private houses suspected of sheltering terrorists could once again be the subject of attentive examinationThe number of civilians killed.

Palestinian terrorists have also been the subject of international criticisms for having drawn rockets without discernment from Israeli civil zones.During several days of fighting last week, Islamic jihad drew some 450 rockets in Israel, most of them landed in unstructed areas or intercepted by the defense of the Iron Dome of Israel.

Since Hamas took power in Gaza in 2007, Israel led three wars and dozens of skirmishes against terrorist groups. While wars have inflicted heavy damage to Hamas and the small group of Islamic jihad, hundreds of civilians have also died in Israeli air strikes.

The number of civilians killed has been the subject of strong international criticisms and the ICC of The Hague opened a preliminary investigation into the tactics of Israel on the battlefield.

Israel rejects this criticism, saying that he takes many precautions to avoid unnecessary civil losses.

He claims that his targets are based on sophisticated information and that they are authorized by legal advisers and other experts, and that he often warns residents to evacuate before their homes are struck. He says he has refined his guided missiles, by delivering useful small loads that minimize damage beyond the precise target.

« Nos opérations contre le Jihad islamique ont été très précises, très délibérées, basées sur le plus haut niveau de renseignement dont nous disposions»», a déclaré le lieutenant-colonel Jonathan Conricus, porte-parole militaire, aux journalistes jeudi après l’annonce du cessez-le-feu.

« L’une des considérations clés était et demeure de limiter dans toute la mesure du possible les dommages collatéraux et les effets sur les non-combattants»», a-t-il ajouté.

Israel argues that civil losses are inevitable in the densely populated urban environment of Gaza.Terrorists often pull rockets from overcrowded residential areas, which leads to Israeli reprisals, and Israel accuses terrorists of using civilians, including their own families, as human shields.
