Until March 6, the Kunsthaus in Zurich presents an exhibition of drawings and prints by Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione (1609-1664). It is the first museum in the German-speaking world to present the graphic work of the Italian artist.

Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione, also called "Il Grechetto", is "a virtuoso of Baroque art", "an innovative master, whose prints rivaled the art of Rembrandt", writes the Kunsthaus on Thursday. His brush and oil drawings have been a source of inspiration for many artists.

The exhibition "Baroque Fire", open to the public on Friday, brings together around 80 works on paper, some of which are rarely shown to the public. They come from European collections. A dozen drawings, kept at Windsor Castle, were loaned by the British Royal Collection.
