United States: on Facebook border agents mock migrants and politicians in a secret group

UNITED STATES - The revelations made by the American news site Propublica are explosive. In an article published on Monday, July 1, he reveals the existence of a secret Facebook group bringing together nearly 9,500 border patrol agents, current or former, entitled "I'm 10-15". A name which refers to a code used by the agents and which designates “the detention of foreigners in cells”.

The comments made there are particularly shocking in their sexist and racist content. Over the publications, the various members of the group exchange “jokes” and “images”, on migrants or several political figures, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Veronica Escobar. Both, who are elected Democrats and have Hispanic origins, have planned a visit this Monday to the Clint detention center near El Paso, which is regularly plagued with criticism.

With regard to this visit, a member of 10-15 proposes in particular to launch a kitty on a GoFundMe page, the final sum of which will go to the agent who dares to throw “a burrito” on the two elected officials, also called “bitches” and a “bucket of shit”.

In one photomontage, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is shown performing oral sex on a migrant, while in another Donald Trump pushes her head towards his crotch.

The MP, who had notably compared certain migrant detention centers to “concentration camps”, also reacted to the publication of the article in the afternoon.
