On the other hand, it must be recognized that the desire to rob brand stores is tempting in this welcoming city, when you enter a luxury store with only 1000 or 2000 VC in your pocket (VC for virtual currency, the virtual currency of the game) and that a simple branded sweatshirt costs 12,000 VC! This is where you can quickly succumb to temptation, take out the credit card to shop in luxury stores, to dress up your character and then show off in the streets meeting other players.

We are still on the borderline between dream and frustration in this basketball simulation. When you dream of playing the leading roles in the NBA, but you lack the success (or talent or VC!) to get there. When you dream of buying clothes that you can't afford in real life, but that you can't afford in virtual either...

Of course, you don't have to buy VC to have fun with NBA 2K (you also earn it by winning games). But the progression in the game will be much slower, sometimes even annoying for some, the time to acquire the minimum level of play to compete with the opposing teams.

But that's how it is, that's the spirit of NBA 2K. The price to pay, perhaps also, to play a truly sublime game, of an incredible realism.
